Welcome to Rhodes!
The sunniest island in Greece. Rhodes has a long history, traces of which are still clearly visible everywhere: the medieval center, the winding streets, tranquil squares, castles, museums, and churches. In Rhodes Town, you walk through 2,500 years of history. The city has a lot to offer: the bustling harbors, the lovely beach, the tavernas, literally on every street corner, and the shops in the modern center. But there is so much more to discover on Rhodes.
Many visit the Acropolis of Lindos, only the one in Athens is larger, but be sure to explore the stunning surroundings of Lindos as well. Don’t miss a trip along the island’s west coast, with its rugged, towering mountains and cliffs, the ruins of Ancient Kameiros, or the castle on the rock: Monolithos. In this area, you’ll find spectacular gorges and wild, completely deserted beaches.

In addition to “The Sunny Island” and “The Windy Island,” Rhodes’s best-known nickname is “The Green Island.” Rhodes is covered in forests of mostly evergreen conifers, pine trees, and olive groves. Spring, which begins here as early as February, is one big celebration of flowers and countless shades of green. But Rhodes also lives up to its name in the summer.
Rhodes is above all an island with stunning beaches. Stylish, like those at Kalithea or Lindos. Or perhaps lively, like in Faliraki. Families with children will find the best spots near Charaki and Tsambika. Or opt for peace and quiet at Gennadi and Afantou. The Prasonisi Peninsula in the south is famous as a hotspot for kiteboarding and windsurfing. And our personal favorites: Anthony Quinn Bay (Kounna Beachbar) and Kolymbia (Beachclub Verano). It’s hard to choose!
